Who are we?

TWO Farming families with a love of australian hardwood

As farmers, we’ve always had a passion for farm forestry having an important role to play in regenerative agriculture and sustainable farming.

Apart from our interest in farm forestry, our sawmilling business evolved circumstantially following the 19/20 bushfires. When faced with an abundance of bushfire affected hardwood timber, we began to investigate reasons as to why many sawmills rejected bushfire affected timber. Much of this boiled down to inflexibilities and inefficiencies of farm-forestry quantities and variables. With farm forestry a key focus area in sustainable timber management, there’s opportunity in overcoming these issues.

When building our hardwood timber business, we placed importance on efficiencies in processing and flexibility of log sizes and species to work with as much of Australia’s available wood supply as possible.

We also place importance on working with abundant species that many commercial sawmills reject. Select harvesting of our native forests can result in biodiversity loss, and utilising and value-adding our abundant species today that has resulted from select harvesting over the years will conserve and protect the biodiversity of our native forests.

By innovating our way to efficiency, we’re able to supply sustainably harvested hardwood timber within very reasonable time frames to support the high demand for top quality Australian hardwood.

Our Bega Valley location regularly services the South Coast, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney regions.
